Con Edison union workers hold mock picket line protest in the Bronx

Con Edison union workers conducted a mock picket link protest Tuesday as a warning to Con Ed.

Members of Local 1-2 Utility Workers Union of America held a practice picket to show Con Ed and residents what might happen if a real strike occurs when their contract expires Saturday at midnight. A union business agent says the workers are looking for a higher salary and better medical benefits.

The union workers plan to hold a massive rally in Manhattan on Thursday.

If a real strike occurs, Con Ed would lose hundreds of gas and electric division employees as well as support personnel and technicians.
