Union officials say talks with Con Edison are deadlocked as strike looms
Con Edison union workers rallied in the Bronx and city Thursday demanding a new contract.
Members of the Local 1-2 Utility Workers Union say they will walk off the job by Saturday at midnight if the union and Con Edison do not reach an agreement.
Union officials say negotiations with Con Edison are deadlocked. Some of the sticking points include better wages, medical benefits, work rules and pensions.
If workers were to go on strike, repairs or problems could be delayed.
