Con Ed workers in the Bronx and city continue to rally as strike deadline nears
Con Edison workers in the Bronx were rallying once again Friday as a strike deadline nears.
Members of the Local 1-2 Utility Workers Union gathered outside of the Con Edison facility on White Plains Road. All week long the workers have held demonstrations and practice picket lines in the Bronx and city to show that they are serious about striking if their demands are not met.
The union members want better wages, medical benefits, work rules and pensions. A union spokesperson says negotiations with Con Ed are ongoing.
