Popular Bronx restaurant Joe and Joe's closing after 64 years

A 64-year-old Bronx restaurant is closing its doors for good Wednesday.

The owner of Joe and Joe's has decided to close up shop because of rising insurance and utility costs. Residents say the great food and memories will be sorely missed in the borough.

Housed in an old Civil War recruiting building, Joe and Joe's has served many generations of customers from Connecticut to Long Island.

Although this chapter of Bronx history is ending, the owner of Joe and Joe's hopes to open another restaurant at some point in the future.
