Federal funds secured to clean up Bronx waterfront and shoreline

Bronx lawmakers received word this week that $900,000 in federal funds has been secured to help clean up the Bronx waterfront and shoreline.

Congressman Jose Serrano (D-Bronx) helped secure the money from Washington, which he says was an extremely hard task. He says it was not easy to convince lawmakers that the Bronx actually has a river and beach.

The funds will be divided amongst projects for the Bronx River, the Orchard Beach shoreline, and the Soundview Park waterfront.
