NYC defeats LI in the 7th Annual Empire Challenge H.S. football classic

Eight Bronx players and one coach helped lead New York City to victory in the 7th Annual Empire Challenge High School Senior all-star football classic.

The game was scoreless going into the second quarter until the Long Island team scored first making it 7-0. But it didn't last long when one of Lehman's own scored a touchdown. Tied at 7-7, the game went into overtime for the first time in the history of the Empire Challenge.

In overtime, the city team scored first with a field goal making it 10-7. Long Island looked to even it up but in the final seconds missed the field goal. New York City's win snaps a 2-game losing streak.
