Stevenson H.S. baseball star to play for South Carolina University next year

(07/03/04) THE BRONX - Stevenson High School baseball star Maximo Nunez will play for the South Carolina University Gamecocks next year.

Nunez, who wore #23 for Stevenson, was the team captain and played shortstop. He led the squad in hitting with a .324 batting average. Scouts from South Carolina noticed both his hitting and defensive play.

Nunez will receive a scholarship to play ball for the Gamecocks. He has already signed with South Carolina and says he is excited to play there.
