Carrion plans to bring more affordable housing to the Bronx

A new initiative by Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr. along with funding from city programs is helping to bring more affordable housing to the borough.

Carrion and other elected officials say there is a housing crisis due to a lack of affordable housing. But now Carrion has set aside $4.4 million from his capital spending budget in order to build more affordable housing and housing for seniors.

In addition, the New York City Housing and Development Corporation is building nine developments across the Bronx for low-income families. The company is also building developments for middle-income families.
