Day care center in Morris Park gets ready to re-open after E.Coli outbreak

The For Kids Only Day Care Center in Morris Park will re-open its doors Thursday after an E.Coli outbreak last week.

Employees cleaned every surface in the center to get it ready E.Coli testing Wednesday. Co-owner Dennis Garafolo says he had the surfaces, air and water tested to make sure the center was clean. Department of Health officials confirmed the center passed inspection and is able to re-open. However, the source of the bacteria is still unknown.

According to Garafolo, children in two classrooms on the lower floor got sick. He says when he realized how serious the outbreak was, the center closed and notified parents. The Department of Health gave all of the employees a course on safety and hygiene Tuesday. Garafolo says only children with a doctor's note confirming they are free from infection will be allowed to come to the center.

The owners of the day care center look forward to re-opening and say every parent will receive a full refund for the days the center was closed.
