Parkchester residents fed up with foul odor emanating from turkey plant

Parkchester residents say they have had enough of the smells coming from the LSK Smoked Turkey Products factory. The factory, which processes raw turkey into refrigerated products, runs a 24-hour operation with smoke billowing out of the plant constantly. Residents complain that the smell from the factory has affected their quality of life and they want tougher restrictions imposed on the plant.City inspectors say LSK is in clear violation of air pollution codes. The company has received numerous air pollution violations over the last year. The company faces a cease and desist order from the city if they do not present a feasible plan on how to deal with odors emanating from its factory. A statement from LSK says that it has contracted an odor control company to address the smell. The company says none of the emissions from the plant are considered harmful.
