First ever Latino Hip-Hop Summit held in the Bronx

The first ever Latino Hip Hop Summit was held at the Lehman College Center for the Performing Arts in the Bronx Tuesday. Hundreds of students crowded Lehman's auditorium to hear messages from stars that attended the event such as Russel Simmons, Run DMC and Rosie Perez. The summit consisted of interactive panel discussions between the artists and the attendees. The celebrities stressed the importance of Latino youth getting out to vote and other issues that impact the quality of life of the Latino community. The event was part of a series of summits created by the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network. New York is the 22nd state to participate in the initiative.
