Dozens of Bronx kids participate in the Freedom Youth Rally

Dozens of Bronx kids participated in the Freedom Youth Rally in City Hall Park Wednesday.

The kids are a part of Freedom Schools, a program run through the Children's Defense Fund. The rally is a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Freedom Summer of 1964. The Freedom Summer was a highly publicized campaign to register African Americans to vote during the Civil Rights movement.

During the rally, hundreds celebrated the improvements society has made, as well as calling attention to problems that still exist.
