Pataki says Bronx unemployment down, more jobs being created

Governor Pataki toured the Bronx Friday and introduced a new area business called Social Security Express. The new social security disability claims company has joined several new businesses in the area to create thousands of new jobs for borough residents.

The governor also said that the state has created 25,000 new jobs last month alone, the most in the country during that period of time. The Bronx, the borough with the highest unemployment rate in the state, dropped their unemployment rate 3.9 percent betwen February and the middle of June.

Social Security Express has created 250 new jobs since it moved its headquarters to the Bronx.
