Wire damage on New Haven Line causes delays at the Fordham Station

Wire damage on Metro-North's New Haven Line in New Rochelle caused delays at the Fordham Station for much of Wednesday.

Damage to the overhead electrical wires occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m., say transit officials. Initial reports indicate that an overhead train arm may have gotten tangled in the wires.

Metro-North says they have opened a second track and plan on having a third track operational sometime Wednesday night. They are planning to run the Wednesday evening peak hours with a full schedule, but they are warning riders to prepare for crowded trains and 15-minute delays.
