Mayor Bloomberg signs bill approving the real estate tax rebate

Homeowners in the Bronx and city are one step closer to cashing in on a $400 tax rebate. Mayor Bloomberg signed the real estate tax bill Thursday.

Those eligible for the rebate are homeowners, co-op owners and condo owners. The owners must use the properties as their primary residence.

The state Legislature must still pass the bill, but Mayor Bloomberg says the rebate is a step in the right direction.
