Some Throgs Neck residents complain about 'dangerous intersection' in the area

(07/31/04) THROGS NECK - Some Throgs Neck residents are complaining about what they call a dangerous intersection in their neighborhood. They say fender-benders are common where Lawton Avenue crosses Throgs Neck Boulevard.

The residents living near the intersection claim many drivers ignore Lawton Avenue's stops signs. Neighbors say they are worried someone may be killed there. They also say the local homeowner's association has tried everything to make the area safer for drivers and pedestrians.

Officials from the Department of Transportation say they will conduct a site survey to determine if changes need to be made at the intersection.
