Some residents argue new development in Harding Park is premature

(07/31/04) HARDING PARK - There has been a recent surge of new housing in Harding Park. Dozens of large row houses have gone up. More two-family homes and condos will soon be built as well.

But some folks in the neighborhood are not welcoming the new development. They say more schools, better transportation and new parks are needed before more people can move into the area.

There is also concern about a lack of places for children to have fun. Some Bronx residents say there are not enough community centers in the neighborhood to accommodate all the kids who have recently moved to Harding Park.
