Truck drivers claim they are unaware of route changes in Hunts Point

It's been more than a week since truck routes in Hunts Point were changed, yet residents say the trucks are still using the residential streets that are off limits.

One stretch of road not to be used by truck drivers is Garrison Avenue. Truck drivers traveling on Garrison told News 12 The Bronx that the new routes are news to them.

According to city officials, truck drivers were given fliers about the route changes. And the Department of Transportation says it has done its part outlining alternate routes. DOT officials say it's up to the police to enforce the law.

Truck drivers say what is needed is an off ramp from the Bruckner Expressway to one of the commercial streets.
