NAACP hits the streets to register Bronx voters
A new voter registration drive has one civil rights group hitting the streets of the Bronx. The Bronx Coalition of NAACP Branches is leading over 100 community organizations in an effort to get people out to vote. According to the NAACP, only 30 percent of Bronx residents eligible to vote are registered. The NAACP hopes to register 2004 new Bronx voter in the next 30 days. The president of the local NAACP branch says that the effort is not intended to help either candidate.
