Political campaign posters found in illegal places throughout The Bronx

(08/07/04) SOUNDVIEW - News 12 The Bronx has found some political campaign posters illegally posted on public property throughout the borough.

News 12's cameras caught someone illegally hanging campaign posters for State Senator Ruben Diaz (D-Soundview) and his son Assemblyman Ruben Diaz Jr. (D-Soundview) the entranceway to the Bronx River Parkway north. The posters were also found on trees along the highway, but many of the illegally posted signs were taken down after News 12's report.

News 12's cameras also found State Senator candidate Pedro Espada's campaign posters illegally posted on street lights along Castle Hill Avenue. Espada says he never told his staff to put up the posters.

NYPD officers say anyone caught hanging campaign posters on public property in The Bronx will receive a summons. To report signs, posters or stickers posted on public property in The Bronx, folks can call the city's non-emergency hotline at 3-1-1.
