Riverdale storeowners want more police patrols following string of robberies

Storeowners in Riverdale are calling for more police officers to patrol the area following a string of robberies over the last several months.

The latest business to be hit by thieves was the Ginger Grill. The owner says the robbers broke in through the roof and stole $100. In February, thieves broke into the Rumors Hair Salon taking cash and $800 worth of CDs. Thieves also struck Riverdale Graphics and an Italian restaurant.

The owners have petitioned the 50th Precinct hoping to get more police officers on patrol in the area.
