Six stores in West Farms remain closed after landlord fails to replace sprinklers

Six stores along East Tremont in West Farms remain closed Wednesday after the landlord failed to fix the sprinklers. The fire department ordered the stores to shut down more than a week ago until the landlord fixed all of the non-working sprinklers.

The storeowners say the landlord is working on the problem but claim a missing part is what is causing the delay. Still they are frustrated since they were told that they would be back open for business last Thursday. The owners say they are losing money and losing customers.

Business owners hope the sprinkler company gets things fixed soon. If not, they say they will go to local officials for help.
