Teach for America sending hundreds of teachers to Bronx schools this fall

A program that works to close the achievement gap in New York City schools by recruiting college grads is sending hundreds of teachers into the classroom this fall.

Teach for America is sending more than 300 teachers to the Bronx at a time when the city is finding it tough to keep highly qualified teachers.

Statistics show that teachers from the program have great success in bringing up grades and test scores. One teacher from the program says her work is paying off. She says initially she had a class of low-achieving students but now they are all passing.
