Bronx residents prepare for Tropical Storm Charley as it makes its way north

(08/14/04) SOUNDVIEW - With the remnants of Tropical Storm Charley making its way up the East Coast, many Bronx residents are preparing for heavy rains, thunderstorms, high winds and possible flooding.

Charley was a Level 4 hurricane when it hit the Florida coast, killing at least 15 people and causing billions of dollars in damages. As it makes its way north, Charley will lose strength. It has already been downgraded to a tropical storm.

News 12 Meterorologist Jay Engle says the storm is expected to reach The Bronx sometime early on Sunday. He adds there will probably be about 2-3 inches of rain across The Bronx ending by sunrise and only small showers following the storm.
