Upsets continue at the GHI Bronx Tennis Classic

Day three of the GHI Bronx Tennis Classic ended with a number of the top seeds falling to lower seeded players.

Just two of the eight men's top seeds made it out of the first round. Seventh seed Ivo Heuberger from Switzerland lost in straight sets. The only seed left in the tournament is 5th seed Janco Tipsarevic from Croatia.

On the ladies side, 4th seed Lenka Nemeckova from the Czech Republic advanced to the second round, but 3rd seed Sofia Arvidsson from Sweden and 8th seed Virginia Pichet from France both lost in the first round. In addition, 2nd seed Nuria Llagostera from Spain advanced to the second round.
