Many City Island business owners blame summer sales slump on weather

(09/05/04) CITY ISLAND - City Island businesses usually see many customers during the summer, but many business owners say the weather has kept many people home this year.

Most City Island restaurants rely heavily on seasonal revenues. Debra Ianniello, a manager at the Lobster house, tells News 12 The Bronx this summer has been a big disappointment. Tito Puente's Restaurant general manager John Erminio says this summer has been bad for business, estimating a 15 percent loss in sales compared to last year. He also blames the bad weather.

Bronx concession stands at Orchard Beach took a financial hit due to the weather this summer season as well.
