Bronx may soon be home to BJ?s Wholesale Club

The Bronx may soon be home to the boroughs first discount wholesale shopping club. The tow yard on Bruckner Boulevard and Brush Avenue in Throgs Neck is the proposed site of a new BJs store.

Some members of Community Board 10 say they love the idea of the store, but they are concerned about traffic problems. The lot in question isnt easy to access from the north and planned construction on the Unionport Bridge will only make matters worse.

Community Board 10 District Manager James Vacca says BJs is cooperating with the board on coming up with a plan to accommodate the increase in drivers. Board members are expected to review the proposals in early October. If plans are approved, BJs could open for business in the Bronx by the end of 2005.
