Grand Concourse Academy opens its doors to more than 100 kids
After more than a decade of planning, the Grand Concourse Academy Charter School finally opened its doors.
More than 100 kids in kindergarten through second-grade were chosen via lottery to be a part of the school. The school offers a longer day and each classroom has a teacher and teacher's assistant.
The principal says each year the school will accept 50 new kindergarten students and eventually the school will go up to fourth-grade.
