Mount Saint Vincent Women?s Volleyball team beats SUNY Maritime 3-2

In a Skyline Conference Womens Volleyball match-up, the Lady Dolphins of Mount Saint Vincent visited SUNY Maritime for the Lady Privateers home opener. It took them five games, but in the end, the Lady Dolphins won the deciding game for a 3-2 victory.

The Lady Dolphins, whose head coach Roberto Garcia is in his second week with the team, won both of the first two games by a score of 30-22. Then the Lady Privateers took control by taking the third and fourth games 30-27 and 30-26. The Lady Privateers took a 6-4 lead early in the deciding fifth game, but couldnt stop the serve of Lady Dolphins junior outside hitter Monique Lopez, leading to a seven point scoring streak for Mount Saint Vincent. Despite a subsequent four point surge by SUNY Maritime, they couldnt muster enough for a victory and lost the game by the score of 15-13.

The Lady Dolphins are now 1-1 on the season, while the Lady Privateers fall to 0-2.
