More than a dozen Bronx public schools begin school year with new sidewalks

The Department of Transportation in conjunction with the Department of Education is working to fix broken sidewalks at public schools across the Bronx and city.

So far, more than 100 schools citywide have received new, safer sidewalks. In the Bronx, 14 elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools opened their doors this new school year with improved sidewalks.

The Department of Transportation says it will try to fix sidewalks at as many schools as possible over the next few years.
