Construction at Lehman H.S. causing concern amongst drivers and students

Construction to an overpass at Lehman High School has some drivers and students worried about the possibility of an accident.

Work to the overpass at the school's entrance has forced students to walk in the street, which means drivers have to be extra cautious. The students say when they walk by the construction site on East Tremont Avenue they feel as if they are going to be hit by a car. And drivers say losing a lane of traffic and sharing the road with pedestrians is scary for them also.

Some students say there is another route they could take but claim it takes too much time.

Meantime, the Department of Education contacted the Department of Transportation about the issue. The DOT is now scheduled to visit the site to conduct an inspection.
