Bronx man claims Meals on Wheels deliveries interfere with Jewish Sabbath

An elderly Bronx man is claiming that the Meals on Wheels program is forcing him to choose between his religious beliefs and his dinner.

Although Meals on Wheels has delicious Kosher dinners, David Salovey says the problem is that they are delivered on the day of the Sabbath -- a day which he is not allowed to answer the door. Salovey says he has called the organization that runs Meals on Wheels, the Bronx Jewish Community Center and the Department of Aging but has received nothing but the run around.

Salovey says what he is going through is a problem for dozens of elderly Jewish residents.
