Activists spread peace message in 'Stop the Violence' march down Tremont Ave.

(10/09/04) TREMONT - Even though crime is down in the Bronx compared to the same time last year, community activists still took to the streets Saturday, calling for an end to violence.

Some of the participants have been directly affected by crime. They marched down Tremont Avenue to spread their message to all people, especially homeowners, business owners and school officials.

Organizers of the Bronx "Stop the Violence" march say they plan to hold another rally next year and create workshops for the community on recognizing violent behavior.
