Police search for suspect responsible in string of robberies along Tremont Avenue

Police officers in the Bronx are searching for a man they say is responsible in a string of bank robberies along east Tremont Avenue. According to officials from the New York City Police Department, the suspect has robbed two banks and made a failed attempt at a third. The most recent robbery took place at the Roslyn Savings Bank in Throgs Neck. The suspect got away with $2,000. Police say the suspect also robbed the Washington Mutual Bank near Westchester Square. He handed the teller a note and demanded an undisclosed amount of cash. Police say the suspect is armed and dangerous. They are asking anyone with information to call the 45th Precinct at (718) 822-5411.
