Two young brothers injured in hit-and-run accident on their way to P.S. 103

Two young brothers on their way to school at P.S. 103 were injured Wednesday after being hit by a car. Police say the driver of the car then took off.

The boys, ages six and 10, were not seriously injured and were treated at Jacobi Hospital. According to the boys' parents there was no crossing guard at the intersection at the time of the accident.

Police say the crossing guard was out sick and that the accident happened during the time they were trying to get a replacement. Police are still looking for the driver.
