Advocacy group finds Grand Concourse intersection most dangerous in borough

Queens may have its so-called boulevard of death, but the Bronx has intersections filled with accidents. Now, a transportation advocacy group wants a safer Grand Concourse for pedestrians. A new study calls the Grand Concourse at E. 170th Street the most dangerous intersection for pedestrians in the borough, and the third most dangerous in the city. Between 1995 and 2001, 60 pedestrians were injured by vehicles at the intersection according to Transportation Alternatives, a nonprofit advocacy group for biker and pedestrian safety.
