Borough president unveils plan to for a new Yankee stadium

Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr. unveiled his plan for a new Yankee Stadium Tuesday.

Carrion's $700 million proposal would utilize much of the old stadium. He also wants to build hotels, a new Metro-North station and a ferry stop. Carrion says the plan is about creating an urban place for sports, entertainment, education, parks, business activity and a good return on taxpayers' dollars.

The borough president says the new stadium is part of his overall plan to make over the Bronx. The bulk of the plan still needs legislative approval and may not begin for four or five more years.
