Four-way stop sign to be installed at dangerous Bronx intersection

Bronx residents who live near Lawton Avenue and Throgs Neck Boulevard are getting a new stop sign at the intersection they call the accident corner. Residents say drivers usually ignore the two-way stop sign on Lawton Avenue, which leads to minor accidents on the boulevard. Members of the Throgs Neck Homeowners Association say they have sent petitions to the Department of Transportation asking for a four-way stop sign at the intersection. After several fender benders at the corner, the DOT approved the four-way stop sign, which will be installed within the next few days.
