Some Bronx students say they must dodge cars in order to get to class

Students who attend DeWitt Clinton High School say they have to dodge cars each day when trying to cross Mosholu Parkway. They say they arent given enough time to cross the four-lane road and speeding cars just miss hitting them. Officials from the Department of Transportation said there is already a crosswalk in the area and there is nothing more they can do. Students, however, are asking the DOT to install a longer traffic light or an overpass so they feel safer when crossing the road. The Bronx High School of Science is not too far away from the Mosholu Parkway. Students from that school have also complained of the same crossing problem.
