Wings Academy point guard verbally commits to Marist College

Some say three years ago Gerald Carter was one of the best point guards in the city and was on his way to a Division I scholarship. Those expectations have come true after Carter verbally committed to Marist College.

Carter helped Wings Academy to the PSAL Class B city title in 2002. He averaged 13 points and 10 assists per game. He went on a championship tour of sports and won a Connecticut state title two years ago at Bridgton Academy Prep School. Last year, he also won a New Hampshire State Title at the Holderness Prep School.

Carter will be a freshman next year. He chose Marist College over Hofstra University and Binghamton University.
