Halloween events for Bronx kids held at the Botanical Garden and in Morris Park

(10/31/04) THE BRONX - Two special Halloween events were held for Bronx children on Sunday.

Many Bronx kids got a scary reception at the New York Botanical Garden during a haunted walk tour. Hundreds of families dressed up for Halloween made their way down the path as they were greeted by skeletons, witches and other monsters hiding in the greenery.

In Morris Park, dozens of children from around the borough took time out from trick-or-treating to take a hayride around the neighborhood. Several Bronx families packed the carriage along Morris Park Avenue. Bronx kids say they look forward to the hayride every year because it is a welcome change of pace.
