Jeff Klein wins three-way race for 34th Senate District seat

Democratic Assemblyman Jeff Klein has won the three-way race for the 34th Senate District seat. Klein joined supporters at Maestro's Restaurant on Bronxdale Avenue in the Bronx Tuesday night where he gave his acceptance speech. Klein ran against Republican candidate John Fleming and Assemblyman Stephen Kaufman, a Democrat from the Bronx who ran on the Conservative and Independent party lines. The 34th state Senate seat was vacated when its previous occupant, Guy Velella, resigned after pleading guilty to bribery charges.
