Bronx Muslims celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan

Bronx Muslims celebrated the end of the holy month of Ramadan Sunday.

A morning prayer service was held a Parkchester Mosque, where prayers were said for the safe return of U.S. troops from Iraq. The Islamic Cultural Center of New York hosted the prayer service and also a bazaar. The center plans on building an Islamic facility that will house a school, credit union, restaurant, fitness center and Mosque.

Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr. says the $35 million project will help reverse some misconceptions people have about Islam. Once the center is built the new facility will be the largest Islamic Center in the northeast.
