Six Bronx residents named to MAAC preseason all-conference teams

Six Bronx residents were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) preseason all-conference teams earlier in the month. The six players say they are thrilled to be a part of the MAAC preseason teams.

Keydren Clark, a junior at St. Peters, says being chosen as MAAC Preseason Player of the Year is a great motivational tool. He says he plans to use that motivation and intensity throughout the season. Mike Konovelchick, a junior at Manhattan College, says it was a great compliment to be named to the third preseason all-conference team.

All of the players were honored with preseason awards. Some players from Manhattan College were honored for their play on the court during the first week of action. C. J. Anderson, a freshman, was named MAAC Rookie of the Week for helping the team defeat South Dakota State in their season opener. Donnette Shorty Reed, a senior, was named MAAC Player of the Week for helping the Lady Jaspers beat Fordham in their season opener.
