Bronx holiday shoppers head to stores in droves on Black Friday

Holiday shoppers in the Bronx headed to discount stores in droves to take advantage of early sales and discount prices Friday.

The Target store in Marble Hill expects to see between 12,000 and 13,000 shoppers this Black Friday. The store manager at Target says if Black Friday is any indication of how things will go, they should continue to see a steady stream of customers throughout the holiday season.

The International Council of Shopping Centers says adult shoppers will spend approximately $600 each this holiday season. They also say targeting holiday shoppers early works because last year's Black Friday was a busier shopping day than the day before Christmas.
