NYC firefighter who died in Iraq remembered in ceremony in Co-op City
Firefighters of Engine Company 66 and Ladder 61 remembered one of their own who died in Iraq in a ceremony in Co-op City Tuesday.
Those who worked with Christian Engeldrum say he was dedicated to his job. They say he was a good friend and a loving father. Engeldrum signed up to go to Iraq and was shipped out in September. He was killed in an accident in Baghdad several days ago.
During the ceremony, firefighters retired the fallen heros uniform. Engeldrum is an Edgewater native. He leaves behind a wife and two sons, ages 16 and 18.
