Parents upset kids have to stand outside until school bell rings at P.S. 106

Parents with children attending P.S. 106 say their kids are forced to wait outside without supervision until the school bell rings.

The parents are upset because there are no teachers or other school personnel to supervise while their kids wait for the doors to open at 8:20 a.m. They say they are forced to either wait with their kids or leave them alone.

One option though is for parents to let their kids in a side door at the school where breakfast is served at 7:45 a.m. But not all parents feel that's a good alternative. Some say their kids don't like breakfast, plus there is not enough supervision.

Department of Education officials insist there is enough supervision and say the kids can attend breakfast and just not eat. Still some parents say they will continue to voice their concerns.
