BX organization launches effort to make it easier for folks to clean up after their dogs

(12/05/04) NORWOOD - Evidence of people not properly curbing their dogs has prompted a Bronx organization to launch a cleanup effort.

The president of the Mosholu Preservation Corporation says many people do not pick up after their dogs, so they launched a campaign called "Cut the Crap." The organization bought two Dogi-Pot dispensers filled with bags for dog walkers. Workers from the New York City Parks Department installed the dispensers in Williamsbridge Oval Park.

Under the pooper-scooper law, Bronx residents that get caught not cleaning up after their dogs face a $200 fine.
