Bronx residents learn how to find the perfect Christmas tree

With the holidays around the corner, many Bronx residents are busy finding and decorating Christmas trees. To help people out, Bronx tree sellers are offering advice on how to find the perfect tree.

One tree seller says when buying a real tree, people should pull on the branches a little bit to make sure none of the pines pull off easily. He adds that people should make sure to water their tree so it does not dry out. And while some people prefer real trees, others buy a fake one and put it up year after year.

Whether residents decide to buy a real or fake tree, fire officials are offering tips to keep homes and apartments safe. They say trees should be kept away from fireplaces or heaters. They add that all lights should be checked before they are put on the tree. Fire officials also say residents should not leave the lights on unattended.
