Bronx merchants hope to draw many shoppers with holiday bargains

Bronx shoppers looking for bargains this holiday season do not have to travel very far.

The borough presidents office did some comparison shopping in Westchester and Manhattan and found many of the same items for less in the Bronx. One example of the bargains found in the Bronx is a pair of Diesel sneakers, which costs $55 in the Bronx and $80 in Manhattan.

Bronx shoppers should have plenty of stores to choose from when searching for a bargain. The borough president says there is a million square feet of retail space at the Hub near Fordham Road. Bronx merchants add that several subways and buses converge at the Hub so shoppers do not have to worry about parking.
